If you require a CRB check you will need to do the following:
Procedure
- Collect a CRB form and guidance from the Research Office - room 2A08, Frenchay and room 1K22, Glenside
- Complete CRB form in black ink (NB: you do not need to complete sections E & F on the form)
- Contact Vicky Nash to arrange an appointment for her to check your form against your ID.
The ID you require is outlined in the guidance notes, we cannot except any ID other than those indicated. Vicky will need to see original copies of all ID.
FAQs
How long will the check take?
Times will vary, but usually it takes approximately 2 weeks. The certificate will be sent to your home address as indicated on Page 1. You can track your application via www.crb.gov.uk and follow the link for ‘Track your application’. You will need your application number and date of birth for this.
What information do I put in Section B?
Q13: Give a brief description of what your role is, e.g. Final year project student/Research project student etc.
Q14 – 19: Put the UWE address here (as indicated at the top of the form).
I need to use a continuation sheet, how do I present this information?
In the guidance booklet it indicates how the CRB want information presented on a continuation sheet, they will reject information if it is not set out in the way. The most common reason that a continuation sheet is used is for additional addresses, therefore the continuation sheet template may be of use for you.
